Hi all

I got a 55xf9005 and until 1 week ago i replaced my Sony MT-HT500 soundbar with a Sonos Beam.

Now starts my problems. To be clear i'm running the .6645 FW for the TV which is the latest. The Beam seems to be sending a deep sleep signal after a couple of hours which causes Android to crash which results in Android reboot upon TV start. Unplugging the beam solves the problem, the problem was not there with the Sony soundbar. This is a ARC problem i know but Sony stats that this issue should be solved. It is not. Can anyone else confirm this with latest FW.

Sony plan for the issue: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00223423

Recomended methodes from Sony does not solve the problem.

Sony forum about the issue: https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/android-tv/android-8-0-oreo-bug-xf9005-reboot-automatically-when-turn-on-the/td-p/2581752/page/12

Does anyone know if Sony works on this problem still? Oreo first releas was witdrawn due to ARC issues but they see to remain. People in the Community seems to only have solved this issue when Sony has given up on helping them and replacing there TV's with a tv with eARC which does not seem to have this issue.

There is no statment anyware that Sony and Sonos arn't compatible using HDMI ARC.

On 2017? To say it is "unlikely" is an understatement. Android 7 came on May 31 2017 for the ATv2 Bravia (end 2016 and 2017 models). I'd say we can expect Oreo for around that month in 2018 for the 2018 Bravia models. With the other TVs (the ones we have now) to follow. The ATV1 televisions (early 2016 and before) still have to receive Android 7.0.

Hi Jecht_Sin,

Would I likely be right in thinking this 'Android 8 Oreo' OS, for Android TV's, mentioned previously, is the same 'Android O' I saw mentioned on a ('published in May 2017') Youtube video last week?

I have only had my Sony Bravia

KD-43XE8396 Android TV a few weeks, & I thought it already had Android 7 Nougat (mine is sloooow & very buggy 😟 - it has software version 'PKG6.2602.0065EUA'). Is this TV still on Android 6??

There is another update available, but I am reluctant to use that in case it makes the situation worse.

Thanks

First_Knight

Sony typically announces news regarding the next Android generation at CES in January. If they provide any time schedule, just ignore that part. Sony is typically many months late with software.

Hi

Thanks for that. The minor update did 'sort out' the intermittent 'no volume bar displayed' and some other things, as well as added other stuff in the 'help section'. Unfortunately I updated to '2671' without knowing that a 'currently disabled' samba app would cause other 'errors' (see other post) that I have now sorted out by 're-enabling' the app, but then going back to somewhere in 'set up' to select 'disagree & disable'.

First_Knight

🤞🏼It starts rolling out across the EU region.

On a side note, is anyone else having issues around linking their Community Account with their Entertaiment Account? It’s driving me nuts that the system can’t handle two accounts using the same Username Email address. If I re-register, I’ll lose all of my existing posts. Arghhhh.
