Subtitles not working

Hi,

So I have a 50W808C.

I put a movie and a srt. file in the same folder and identically named.

I sticked a USB in the TV. It plays fine, but doesn't display any subtitles. Is it not supported by the TV?

If I connect the TV with a HDMI to the laptop will it work?

Hi there

I have just had a look at the supported codecs of the tv:

srt files are supported via USB. i can only assume that there is something different in your files. Try playing other files with srt subtitles to test.

Connecting your laptop via HDMI, will display exactly as it does on the laptop screen to the tv.

Indeed, they should work. I didn't have any more time yesterday, BUT:

I put an English subtitle .srt and it worked. If I put another language, it didnt.

Then, I even kept the same .srt file name (english content) and replaced only the content with another language and it didn't work.

How was this possible?

I will try again with some different movies this evening. Hopefully it will work.

Anyway, as long as it could read ENG subtitles it will be able to read any other file. Just have to find out how.
