can't update sony xperia s

hi, i have problems updating my phone to the new system, 6.1.A.0.452. I am using PC Companion and followed the instructions carefully. however, at the 2nd stage (Prepare), my phone will turn off by itself. this is not suppose to happen as i am suppose to switch it off for 5 seconds later. i also have problems connecting to the PC and carrying out the rest of the update process... my phone will be charging instead of being connected to the PC. can anyone help me with this problem? i don't know what to do... i'm stuck at the 2nd stage... thanks!:smileysad:

You have to first switch off your mobile before connecting it

Use the software below to update your phone

Connect your mobile in way shown only when you are asked to

SUS ( Sony Update Service) ... download and install it on pc and follow the on-screen instructions http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/Software%20Downloads/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.12.5.exe

try using other pc with SUS/PCC installed

run the program as admin

try using other usb ports

if you can turn your phone on, try a master reset

When you connect your phone in flashmode do you see few drivers being installed on your PC ?

what actually haoppens ?

how do you connect your phone ? and what happens after you connect ?

Moreover it could be due to antivirus and firewalla as well. Try turning them off temorarily until you update your phone ( on PC as well as Phone )

i connect my phone and run the update process. everything will go on smoothly until it reaches the part where i have to unplug my USB cable and phone from the PC. my phone will be in its charging mode... apparently it's already switched off and i can't move on to the next step, which is 'turn off the phone and wait for 5 seconds'. when i connect my phone to the pc, it goes back to charging mode... i cannot update the phone at all...

You are not connecting it in proper way

Please do as follows

Disconnect your phone from PC, and switch it off , Do not connect or switch it on
Run the SUS on your PC. follow the instructions until you reach the end where it says you to connect your phone
Now connect one end of Usb cable on your phone. Now press and hold the volume down key and hold it there, insert the other end of the usb cable in ur PC... Make sure voume down key is pressed during this step
Now release the key when SUS says you to do so

i followed the instructions... the computer indicated that my phone was connected... but SUS showed no indication. my phone went into charging mode once again...

can you try with other PC ?

it seems to be an issue with the flashmode drivers

does the phone charge when you connect it to th ewall charger?

got it to turn on, did the update, now the phone is slow like a turtle, wish i didn't update it
