Backup failure & Internal memory full

The backup randomly gets stuck at 50% of every item and just disappear from the notification bar without any notice. I set my phone to automatically back up and it is now bloating my internal memory. The System Data is taking up 5.74GB now.

Welcome to the community.

You need to clear the data in the Backup & restore app.

From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
Find and tap Settings > Apps.
Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) > Show system.
Find and tap Backup & restore > Storage > CLEAR DATA.

What should I do if I want to back up my phone then? It does not work and only bloats up and waste my internal storage space.
