P1i Sim issue

Hi all,

Ok, so I have a P1i and in my foolish determination to make it dual sim, i got a dual sim adapter from ebay for it. Unfortunately it didn't work, however, it wouldn't come back out of the sim card slot - long story short, in pulling it out, i took half the metal sim connectors with it, so the phone was unable to read a sim card, and hence, couldn't turn on fully.

So I looked into repairing it, and found a replacement sim module online, which i purchased and replaced the damaged one. However, it's still asking me to please insert a sim card. Also, i've noticed this sim module seems to heat up a bit when the phone is on...

Anyone have ANY CLUE what the issue could be here?? I'm quite confused and unsure where to go from here...

I can only suggest you take it in for a repair.At least you know what the problem is!

I certainly would, but I can't really afford to pay for repair right now... (it's not under warranty or anything)

After a little more testing it seems it overheats whenever a sim card is put in, and it happens once the battery is inserted (whether the phone is on or off).

I would avoid using it until you can afford to fix it, otherwise you could cause further damage.
