I am starting to get really annoyed!! I have had nothing but problems with my Xperia x10 since the day I got it! If I am on the internet, playing games, or even on the phone to someone, my phone will switch off, it will then proceed to restart itself at least 10 times in a half hour slot. Clearly if I am in the middle of an important call its serious! What if I was on the phone to the police to report an attack or something? I took it into t mobile who said it was a software problem. The phone autoomatically uploaded some software, yet still persists with that problem. I come online to update it, downloading the software, yet the stage 4 process where it tells me to hold the back button whilst plugging in my usb cable doesnt work, I have been holding the back button for half an hour, and its not doing anything! My mum is seriously ill and I need to return her phone call, but cant because it keeps switching off!

I know what you are taking about. I faced the same problem at the stage 4 in the upgrade, but at the end I found that i make it wrong.

So , please do exactly what I'm stating down:

1- After shutting down the Xperia x10, remove the USB cable from the Xperia x10 and let it be connected to the computer.

1- Remove the SIM card and wait for 5 seconds, you may also remove the memory card for the same time.

2- Reinsert both the SIM and the memory cards.

3- Be sure that the USB cable is still not connected to the phone (it should be just connected to the PC only) .

4- Now, hold the "Back" button without connecting the USB cable to your phone (this let the phone enters to the flashing mode).

5- At the end connect the USB cable to the phone while you are still holding down the "Back" button.

6- Now the phone should continue updating.

If you still have a problem tell me.

The phone died!! Wont switch on, wont do anything. I uploaded the software, and it made the problem which I was trying to fix, worse! If this is sony ericssons attempt at beating the iphone, they failed! I am telling t mobile I do not want a replacement phonbe, or for it to be fixed, I want a different phone! I am not the only person with this problem, and I think its disgusting! Lets hope nothing happens to me that warrants me needing to ring the police/ambulance/fire service because ericsson have left me without contact! T mobile is closed today, and I cant get to them till wednesday! Good one!

It is really unfortunate that you have had this problem at a really bad time but this is why Sony Ericsson provides warranty. I don't think any company just assumes there will be no problems ever. Please update us with what happened if possible.
