Problems with battery charging!!!!!

I have had my x10 for 5 months, It is one of the worst phones I have ever had!! I think its way to slow and constantly needs charging. Anyway on 7/10/10 I went to put my phone on charge and it would not charge nothing at all. So I thought the charger was faulty. I went to get another sony erricsson charger as my mom has the vivaz phone,which is exactly the same charger and that worked. So I thought it was a fault with the charger. I went away for the weekend and took a charger that was compatible with my phone that I ordered off ebay and it worked fine. I came home today went to plug in my moms working charger and nothing. I tried my old charger and nothing. I tried the charger I had been using the weekend and nothing. Luckily I had a spare x10 battery that had been fully charged before hand, so I have had to use that for now. It will not charge through my laptop, it just seems there is no connection from the charging port to the battery, I also need to update my software which I can't do because it the charging port is not working. I had great expectations on this phone and I am very disappointed. If I could afford it I would just go out and buy a completely different phone altogether. I just hope this problem gets sorted and noone else has the same trouble. Thanks.:smileyconfused:

it sounds like you have a fault with either the usb cable or the usb socket on the phone - is there any movement of the socket when you plug the cable in? Maybe one of the solder joints connecting it to the motherboard has come adrift.

Get it checked over by the nearest service centre

I know it is defo not the usb cable. Because I have tried another one aswell. Although like you said when I plug the cable into my phone it does move in the socket. I don't know where my nearest service centre is.

As its under warranty you should go back to your retailer or carrier, wherever you got it from, for them to send it in for repair.

Hi there, problem sorted. Orange gave me call not long ago and they told me to go back to the carphone warehouse and basically replace it as it is a generic problem. Which means its a fault than prob can not be repaired. Thank you everyone for you input x
