Phone cannot differentiate contacts

My country code is +6(0)

So I keyed in +60 12 455 7777 as Alice

Then When Alice called, the number showed 012 455 7777 instead of Alice.

When messaging with Alice, it's fine, since messaging number includes the country code.

Then I edit the contact to just 012 455 7777.

When Alice called, it shows Alice but when Alice text it shows +60 12 455 7777, instead of Alice.

It should be the same as the difference is only the country code. Previously I'd never face such problem before even with featured phones.

So does it make any difference if Alice calls/texts from abroad as opposed from within the country?

That I'm not sure because Alice's in the country. LOL!

The problem I face right now is that, I can only either get a registered contact on a message or a call.

Unless I keyed in the same number twice, once with the country code, once without.

Which I think it's pretty dumb.

I heard it's software problem, but I'm don't know which software to download.

What if you save her number from the call log directly? This way you are sure to get the appropriate numbering format.
