This may be a manufacturing issue. I use Xperia SP and I don't have any problem with its speakers. Take the phone to nearest SONY service center and get it repaired.

Speaker problems - Xperia SP

I bought Sony Xperia M from online seller one month back. Initially speaker was working and from last week onwards speaker has totally stopped working. I initially thought I would have set the volume low by accident, but then I realized that volume was set to max. I tried rebooting and did factory setting too, but of little success.

I believe there is some hardware problem and I never expect this from a branded company like Sony. They should have done through testing before releasing a product into their market. this sort of problem within one month was never expected and it is going to affect sony market for sure.

I expect Sony to fix these things at the earliest. I request to let me know if I need to go to Sony Service station for repair.
