Just like any update there isn't an specific release date for each country/network

http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/software/phones/xperia-z1-compact/

Latest available software

You may already have the latest software, depending on the date of purchase. Software updates are released at different times depending on operator and/or country. Therefore, we cannot give you an exact date for when a specific update will be available for your device.

If you can not wait for the update then you can manually update your phone to the latest firmware

How to manually update, downgrade, root 2014 Xperias

http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z2/How-to-manually-update-downgrade-root-2014-Xperias/td-p/593459

If you encounter any bugs after the latest update, it is recommended to re-install the latest update

Update Service (SUS)

PC Companion (PCC)

Bridge (for Mac)

Alternatives on How to backup Xperias

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/36355

Kit kat for Z1 unlocked (UK)

Hi, I see that KK is now available. Since I purchased my Z1 compact direct from Sony (therefore no carrier involved) I was hoping I could get this now. Any guidance on when it's available for unlocked UK users?

Many thanks

PM52

The update depends on your country and network carrier(especially if you are buying it through a network carrier).

You could flash other country's update but the process is rather complicated.

Try contacting your local Sony Xperia for more queries about update on your country

support.sonymobile.com/global-en/contactUs/
