At 3 months old, your phone is still under warranty, so I suggest you let the SE service centre do the necessary repairs, unless you have a reason to distrust them.

Edit: It stands to reason that if they change the motherboard, which is the heart of the phone, that this would also change it's identity (IMEI).

Hey all,

I bought Vivaz Pro 3 months back & it's already in for a service. The problem which I faced was whenever I connect the phone to charge from AC adapter I get a message in which mode I need to connect the phone (mass storage/pc suite/media transfer) instead of simply charging. The battery is not getting charged even if I connect to USB or the AC adapter. I switched off the phone & connected to AC adapter where the phone appeared to be charging but it was not.

I took it to sony ericsson service shop & the technician came up saying that it has some problem with the motherboard & it needs to be replaced. Can I trust him & go for the change in motherboard ? When I asked him how do I get to know it's been replaced he said the IMEI no. will be changed. Is it true ? Please help.

Thanks in advance.
