Pairs but doesn't connect to Bluetooth speaker

Playing around with my new xperia xz premium today and having some problems connecting to my little Sony Bluetooth speaker.

It seems to pair but then not connect. Any advice on how to sort it out?

Could you test the Bluetooth

settings > about phone > diagnostics > test > test bluetooth

also, test a different device with your phone.
