topic XC Repair ongoing issues in XZ Series

Anyone else face these issues?

Attempted a XC software repair on the XZ handset. The repair failed, rendering the handset unusable. I was hoping that the issue that causes XC to ruin a handset had being resolved, as I have reported the matter a few times previously and XC has being updated many time over the last year.

Can Sony look into why XC continues to corrupt software when performing a repair. This has happened to me on a number of occasions and each time it was reported to Sony. A quick internet search shows that I am not alone. I would like to think that the logs of failed updates are being recorded. In an ideal world, any software fault should be recoverable using XC, particularly after attempting a repair on a working handset. XC remains unable to repair devices, even when the “device cannot be detected” option is selected after XC caused the corruption.

XC version 2.8.3.0

XC error…

UEUpdateFailed

UE_2005

2.8.3.0 / Windows 10 Home 64 bit / win / GB //

XZ Error…

The Software update failed.

Cheers
