Auto assisted dialing not working

I have a xz2

It's my work phone. I have to re type phone numbers of new clients daily, as I dont want to add them to contacts.

On previous Xperia phones, when dialing the first few digits, surgested number would appear, not from contacts but previous called or received unnamed numbers. This does not work on my Xperia xz2?

Is this happening with other users. Have you resolved the issue?

i've tried with different devices, it appears it no longer works, the numbers needs to be saved in the contacts app,
