Updating android on my z2 tablet

Hi,

I have Z2 Sony tablet which I know is old. I don't seem to be able to update the android 6.0.1 operating system. By not updating I can't install the latest version of my Sonos app.

Any help would be appreciated. I dont really want to buy a new tablet as I only use my Z2 for Internet access.

the official last android for the Xperia Z2 Tablet was only up until update 5.1.1

you can update beyond this but may need to modify software and will invalidate your warranty, head on to XDA forums for more information

If you do unlock the boot loader on the device and install a ROM, you gotta use one that's compatible with the specs of the device, otherwise your tablet may lose all sense.
