Cannot delete more than 4 e-mails from trash folder in one go

When I try to delete more than 4 e-mails in one go from the trash folder on my Sony Xperia Z2, the e-mail software crashes with the message: 'Unfortunately, E-mail has stopped'. Is this a bug everyone is experiencing on the Z2?

Not everyone - Try Settings then apps then swipe to All - Locate and open the email app and tap on Force close, Clear cache and Clear data then reboot and test

Thank you Thommo, your instructions have solved the problem. I cleared cache and data which got rid of the 4000+ e-mails in my bin folder. Then rebooted and inputted my e-mail account details. The e-mail app downloaded 157 e-mails from the TalkTalk server. I deleted them, and then deleted the same 157 e-mails from the bin folder... and it worked.

I have the same issue. Before I clear data, can I check, will this delete all the emails in my inbox and sent items too? I need to empty the bin folder as it's huge but don't want to lose the others as they're needed for work. Thanks!

Yes it deletes all e-mails. Since I've done it though. I've had no problems with deleting emails from the trash folder.

I am having the same problem. How do I reload my email details if I clear all the data and cache?

Before deleting the details you may wish to make a note of them first so you can re-enter them once you've deleted the cache. And the setup wizard will setup your account again after the deletion where you input these details.

hi, I also cant delete more than a few emails without this error popping up. I tried force stopping the app as suggested but I wont allow me to do it. I cant force stop, clear data or diable the app. I can only clear cache which does nothing. what else can i try?
