In 2006, in readiness for the World Cup, I bought a Vaio Media Center, VGX-XL100. It has served me well. Now that the 2014 World Cup is upon us - and bearing in mind the dated/outdated spec of my Media Center (eg OS is XP)- also that Sony no longer make media centers - what equipment do I need to consider purchasing to replace my current kit? I would like to have the same (or better) facilities as those presently enjoyed.

I should add that at the same time as I bought the MC, I also acquired a Sony Bravia TV. This, too, should perhaps be relaced with a more modern TV.

Hi there

Its really hard to advise you on this as the devil is in the details as they say. In the case of the TV, what type of size are you after? What type of budget constraints? Are you after 4K or ....

My advice is to visit a Sony Centre near you and speak to one of the sales reps - have a demo of the TV's and even compare them - as well as asks as many questions as you like.

Cheers
