Hi peterjohnson1 and welcome to the Community

If you Google you can find a couple of guides on how to remove the battery or dismantle the NWa-1000 Walkman.

I can't obviously recommend this though in case you do more damage than good.

In terms of transferring files to your walkman, can you not just drag and drop them via Windows explorer?

(Does your walkman show up when connected in the Computer tab?)

I have posted a request to the Community about this, but i am deeply fond of my NW A-1000 "pebble" which has an incredible sound reproduction. I don't to part with it and have posted a request for anybody to tell me how to replace the battery please ? I know Sony has said that SonicStage is discontinued because it it incompatible with Windows 7, but I wonder whether anyone has any ideas how I can download music to the device now, please? I don't have Windows Vista any more and don't know anyone who has!!
