I have had this product since April of this year and there is now a symbol on the display with a battery with a line thtrough it. It charges up as normal and says fully charged then after playing one tune the battery symbol comes back on. Has the battery died already?

Sadly its quite possible if that symbol keeps appearing after only a short time.

To double check it is the battery, have you let it wear out totally after a complete

charge to see how long it takes for the battery to empty?

If so how long does it take?

You could also try resetting the walkman, the help guide is Here

(although resetting will wipe it)
