topic MDR1000X Broken (Yet Another One) in Portable Audio

Dear Sony Team,

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the handling of my broken MDR1000X. I purchased the headphones last year from Peter Jones in London only the see the headphones break about 2-3wks ago. After sending them to your Sony support team (through Peter Jones), I am quoted GBP 84 for the repair whereas there are several instances, including this one recently (https://community.sony.de/t5/portable-audio/mdr-1000x-bracket-cracked/m-p/2482493#M4752), where it would appear that it is possible to get them exchanged / repaired for free. I would have expected the same given the clear weakness of the product.

I have spent considerable time already with your tech repair team as well as customer service team and the service I have received was dreadful to say the very least.

I am still at a loss how a >GBP 300 headphones can break so easily (and in so many instances as have been reported online) whilst cheaper headphones from Bose seem to do a much better job at not breaking.

I sincerely hope that this issue gets resolved swiftly.

Best regards

JHS

I am now out of my warranty period however the product clearly has a weakness in this area. Is itpossible to get them exchanged / repaired for free. I would have expected so given the clear weakness of the product.

I sincerely hope that this issue gets resolved swiftly.

Best regards

AS
