Of course you can. But usually Sony micro hifi system compoments are designed to match together so you might not have same sound signature. Just give it a try

Hello,

I have a Sony MHC-RXD7 hifi that I have loved and used for years and years, but the chips for the CD player have had their day and I don’t think it can be repaired. I really love the speakers on this system. The sound quality is good and they have lots of bass even without any bass boost of any kind. I was wondering if I could connect these speakers to a new Sony hifi system like the CMT-SBT20B? Do you think they would work? I think they are passive speakers so don’t require any power from the main unit.

Any useful insights or information would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance, Izzie
