Hello ant1b78 - Welcome to the Sony Forums

By default, the Steadyshot feature of the DCR-SR37 is set to 'On' within this camera. If you need to check to see whether it is active, you need to press HOME --> SETTINGS --> MOVIE SETTINGS --> STEADYSHOT and then select as required.

When using a tripod, it is recommended that you turn off this feature in order to get a more 'Natural' looking shot. This is described on page 66 of the manual which can be downloaded here for your convenience:

http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/4124311121.pdf

Thanks,

Simon
