PROBLEM WITH LCD BRIGHTNESS

Hi.
I just bought Vaio VGN-FS215B. Everything is great beside LCD Brightness... Screen is very bright everytime I turn on my notebook... I can turn brightness down by using Fn+F5, but it works just for a while. Every time i quit some aplication ( for egzample Windvd ) it's very bright again. The same story with restarting windows. Is there any way to save brighness settings?
By the way... before I bought VGN-FS215B I had Vaio PCG-K315M. Personally I think that picture quality was much better in old model despite the VGN-FS215B has 2nd x-black LCD generation. Is it due to graphic card (ATI via Intel)?

hello
click right with your mouse on the desktop.
--> choose "preferences"
(the last option, I only know the German word: Eigenschaften)
--> screensaver
--> energy options
-->VAIO power management
--> there you can change the options
