Dear Sir/Madam

I have purchased a notebook VAIO VGN-A317S from your company. I'm happy about the product, but I'm very disappointed with the service that you have provided. Accidentely my kids have spilt the water on the keyboard, and due to this several buttons of the keyboard doesn't work , I've tried to order a new keyboard by internet, but I couldn't find this particular model. I have contacted the Sony customers service, by which I was advised to buy the new computer and they also told me that they do not take orders for new parts.
I was unable to find the keyboard in any computer stores, internet, repair centres.
I would appreciate you could advise where could I purchase this internal keyboard, since this computer is my working tool and i'm not able to do any work at the moment. Please, unterstand the importance of this.

Hi

We don;t work for Sony on here, but I do have a few tips for you :-

Leave it to dry - don't switch it on
Go to Office World or Staples and ask for some compressed air
Spray in under the keys which don't work anymore

Does this work? If not then let us know, there's a site in the US which might have what you need

Welcome to Club (we don't work for them) Vaio. Here is a link for new keyboards for Vaio. Might be a good idea to keep the kids away from the good kit but it ain't easy. Here

Link does not work...

I've had to disconect the keyboard of my A 317 S, and use only an external keyboard. E-support useless (see other thread started by same person)

Would you please be so kind as to double-check the proper URL?

I have found e-support very good, remember they only work mon-fri though!
Laptop keyboards are very expensive, up to £150!! and unless you are a good with electricals and computer technicals they are probably quite fiddly to fit. However, the good news is that they are normally sealed units so unless your kids spilt a few pints of water on the keyboard it shouldnt damage any other components.

e-support and vaio-link are f###ing s##t all they wanna do is pick up units thay have no parts service at all, i wanna order a lid cover to go over the memory slot, all they say is we have to pick the unit up, i will have to pay £100 postage costs. i looked on sony USA i e-mailed the web site and they were so helpful i got a response straight away, why cant sony uk provide this service?
