I have just received a new VGN-FS215Z laptop. It's amazing... aside from one of the 3 USB ports on the side do not work. Is this something that I can fix? I **need** the computer in the next few weeks, so I think its something that can take a back seat. Please assit...

BTW: It's the USB furthest from the screen that is affected...

Cheers, Colin

It sounds like you could have a loose connection, you may have to send it to off to sony to get it repaired.

Ive never experienced this on a Notebook, but from my experience with desktops it will either be a short around the USB circut on the Motherboard, for that particular port, or another common problem is that the actual circuit inside the port is damaged, possibly through plugging in a faulty device. However, sadly both will mean sending the laptop back!
