Hi
I own a Vaio A215z notebook and since this notebook doesn¿t have a 9 pin serial port, I recently bought a `USB 2.0 to RS232 9 Pin serial adaptor¿. I¿ve installed the driver for this adaptor successfully. So when I try to download data from an Leica datalogger which has a 9 pin serial connection and I run the software on the notebook (used for all leica dataloggers) and try to select `Com Ports¿ I get the message `No Com Ports Installed¿ in the software¿do you think it will only work with a REAL 9 pin com port? I haven¿t called up the manufacturer of datalogger cos I thought maybe something is wrong with my pc. I am using windows xp. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I recently solve that problem. I needed virtual com port for some software to work. I downloaded this program: Virtual Serial Port which emulates com ports. It works perfectly, stable, etc...

However, it's 14 day trial version, so you may check some p2p program and find it that way:smileywink:
