topic Why does my TR5MP not recognise blank CD-RW discs ? in PCs & Accessories

The handbook says Ultra Speed CD-RW is not supported but in fact my notebook doesn't recognise ANY type of blank CD-RW disc. I've tried all the ones usually available e.g. 1x-4x compatible and 4x-12x but whenever I put in a blank disc nothing happens and if I try to open the drive it just says it is not accessible. It seems to be OK with all manner of DVD- discs and I'm pretty sure I can at least read CD-RW discs that have already had data written to them after being formatted in Roxio (just need to check that again maybe) but what gives with the blank CD-RW ? This is the format I usually use for all my office backup stuff.

I sure would appreciate any advice from the forum on this.

Goodoldphil
