laptop slowin down

hi i bought a sony viao laptop....cant remember the model no. now....but it was 2.0 ghz centrino with 512MB ram n everything....and after couple o dayz the laptop slowed down.....like when windows is loading it takes a lot o time to show the desktop n the hard disk keeps on workin.....the thing is my laptop is in pakistan so i cant claim the warranty as i bought it in uk....ive tried formatting it but still no results....n o yea...no games or any big software is loaded on the notebook as well.....any1 knows wht might the prob. be??...thanx

Download Everest Home Edition.
Start Everest, click Storage, click SMART.

Normally you can see there "Value is normal" and "Always passing".
If you see there an Failure or Error, then the harddisk could be damaged.

well same prob i had but since i've uninstalled all da usless software its much betta, but could u tell me frm whr can i download dis everest home edition ???? i dun mind 2 do that if it improves da speed, does it ?

Download Everest Home Edition.

hey hey
maybe problem is from your startup !
you need kill them from your start up
Registery address :
HKLM >> Software >> Microsoft >> Windows >> Currentversion >> RUN
and in the right remove the keys if you not want them
NOTE : don't remove windows keys .. just remove softwares
they will not load again in your startup in next reset !
and maybe you have Spywares in your computer ! kill them with :
Microsoft antiSpywares
Ad-Aware is another good choose

hiya, cheers james but fing is wat i dunno how 2 go remove all these icons from startup :-s can u also guide me how 2 do that ??? to kill all da spy wares i've got AD-Adware & Microsoft antispyware n i rekon they r enuff arent they ?

if you want go to your registery
go on RUN on your start in task !
and type REGEDIT
and go to this address :

if you not use any Network or Wireless .. Disable them from your on My Network Places
