well i just bought another 1G of sdram for my A317S :smileygrin: well guess thats all i can upgrade.. 2G!.. hope this makes alot difference.. and also bought together a 1G SD card for my ipaq :smileygrin: :smileygrin: .. crucial.com.. very cheap cheap very very good hahahaha:smileylaugh:

What software are you using and why do you think it will make a difference?

I've 512MB in my desktop since I bought it 4 years ago. It was an excellent investment. 256MB back then was nice, but with 512MB things went nicer. But even today I see very little reason to upgrade.

Some games need more memory, and I can understand 1GB. But why 2GB?

I've 512MB in my desktop since I bought it 4 years ago. It was an excellent investment. 256MB back then was nice, but with 512MB things went nicer. But even today I see very little reason to upgrade.

Some games need more memory, and I can understand 1GB. But why 2GB?

first it because my vaio come with 2x256mb of ram.. and i upgrade it to 1x1GB ram.. when i check it.. i am running about 50% of the ram.. there is so many vaio programe running plus i used alot of IM software, yahoo,msn,icq,qq,skype... and i also used illustrator,photoshop alot at the same time.

second if i am using 2x256mb or 2x512mb or 2x1G it will run faster as its support dual...something?.. and the most important thing is the cheap to upgrade to 2G :smileygrin: :smileygrin:

Wow Eugene - thats some upgrade. Keep an eye on the tempreture down there - otherwise I am sure you'll see a great performance boost.

yeah its makes alot difference of upgrading... if sony is the only one who sell the ram.. i guess no one will ever upgrade thier vaio ram

No, you lose only the support. Not the warranty. But the thing is that no VAIO which you can buy runs with this Sony Ram. So, I ask me why should buy this Ram. I see no reason.

Well, it means you can't ring and ask as question like "How can I find my IP address", but you can ring and say the DVD drive ins't working and needs a pickup.

1GB suits my requirements fine.

Maybe Eugene needs it for 3D rendering (or those 100s of processes he's running)

Where did you get your ram for your A317S. Is it the new SDRAM DDR2?? I have an A317M and want to upgrade the ram to minimum 1 GB, better still 2GB. Can you advise me. thanks.:smileyhappy:
