Update Video Driver

I am having trouble updating the ATI mobilty Radeon 9700 on my Sony Vaio VGN-S2XP.

I downlaod an update from the ATI official site.

I get two messages when trying to install new driver:

1. SEVERE: INF error. Video Driver not found

2. SEVERE: Setup was unable to complete installation.
Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup

Can someone give me simple and easy intructions on how to update my Video Drivers

Hi,

You can't use the drivers from ATi, as they don't make the drivers for notebook computer graphics cards.

Sony make them for the VAIO, and they are very far and few between.

Many people have had to use omega drivers from omegadrivers.net

Use them with caution

I'm confused..
You're saying that even though my Graphics card is called an ATI 9700 mobility radeon..this is not made by ATI ?
