Hi David.

Yes, it should be compatible.

It is the standard size and SATA is always backward compatible so the SATA 3 should work OK in your XL.

Hi Blencogo,
thank you for your answer.
So, do you think there are not bios limitations about size (1TeraByte)?
I have the bios updated for Vista although I use the original Windows XP Media Center Edition.

Thank you,
David

p.s.
This is the chipset page info. It says that sata supports 3Gb/s.

Hello,

To give you some confidence, I have installed 3 1TB Samsung f1 disks and configured in a RAID 5 and haven't experienced any issues. PC boot and shut down is amazingly quick.

Installed, initialized but not formatted.
Do you think it's better to split the whole space with partitions?
If yes, how?
I thought at least 2 partitions: 1 primary for boot disk backup, 1 for archive.
The first hd is partitioned as sony default: 3 partitions: 1 recovery, 1 windows xp, 1 data.

Thank you.
