Hi mincepie06 and welcome.

I think you are right and this is one for support. Intermittent problems are always difficult to diagnose - it sounds like it may be heat related.

I don't suppose you have tried it with an external input to the screen to see if it is computer or screen related. This is a new feature on Vaios.

Check that you have updated the video driver to Graphics Driver (NVIDIA)-080812_Sus 7.15.11.7622. You may have it already but it is worth checking. You can download the updated driver here: -

VCG-LN1M Updates Downloads

There is also a BIOS Update for another problem but it may help.

The only other thing you could try is to do a complete System Recovery back to factory settings using the Vaio Recovery Centre on your Vaio. Sometimes software added since purchase can contribute to software conflicts.

All that said, it does sound like a hardware fault that will need repair by Sony.

LN1M Screen Fault

Had the LN1M a month and over last couple of days the screen has developed a fault and becomes all fuzzy, with black and white lines. Shutting down and switch off power supply cures problem temporarily. Appears to be intermittent. Anybody experienced this? Looks like one for support!

Hi Blencogo

Sound advice and downloaded latest VIAO update Graphics Driver (NVIDI)-EP0000162841) last night. So far ok. Will update again if fault comes back over next few days. Also downloaded & installed BIOS update as well.

Cheers
