Can i use the Sony PCGA-AC19V9 adapter (from my old VAIO) with my new Sony VPC Z series VAIO? They are both for 19.6 V, the same jack (or so it seems), but of different weight and output power. I cannot see any reason why not but decided to ask anyway. Thanks..

Hi disvist79,

As long as the two adaptors have the same output voltage and the amperage is the same or greater than the original and the connector is the same there should be no problem. Don't use an adaptor with lesser output amperage than the original as this could damage the adaptor and not provide sufficient power to charge or run the notebook.

Rich
