My sony Vaio laptop is getting very hot underneath is this correct? Please can anyone help with this query?

What model Vaio do you have?

Best to establish exactly how hot (getting hot means different things to different people.

Download a utility program that can measure the temperatures of your CPU, GPU and HDD and let us know what they are. Try one of these free programs: -

Are you getting any other problems when the Vaio is hot?

I presume you are using the Vaio on a hard surface and not blocking the vents?

Hi Beedaw

My daughter's 5 year old Vaio had this problem - it got too hot to touch on the bottom. It just needed cleaning - I took it to the local computer repair shop, and they vacuumed it out. Since then it has been fine, and she has bought one of the USB attached laptop rests with a built in fan.
