Hi Sten....,

You will need to purchase a 64Bit retail version of Windows 7.

You haven’t stated your model so it is impossible to tell whether the necessary 64Bit drivers and utilities have been released by Sony.

Cheers Rich - my vio is a VGN-AW31M - I was hoping i could just buy an update,,, from my win 7 32bit::( but i guess i need to purchase the full version

Hi Sten,

I'm afraid that is the only way forward on this. Also as you want to move from 32Bit to 64Bit you will need a clean install so you will lose all preinstalled software and utilities.

Some of the original drivers and utilities for your model support 64Bit and luckily most of the updates do, so hopefully if you proceed you should be able to achieve a fully functional computer.
