VGC-V2M TV Tunner

I have been trying for ages to get my TV working with no joy. I have used the Recovery Diks (Original) and still no tunner or TV. When I enter Setup I don't even see the tunner set up. Please help some one.

Hi Tam Burns and welcome to Club Vaio.

First thing to check is that your TV card is installed:

Start -> Right-click My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware -> Device Manager

Scroll down the list and expand the section "Sound, video and game controllers" by clicking on the + to the left.
Is 'Sony MPEG Real Time Encoder Board' listed?
If so, double-click on it.
Does it say the device is working OK?

Second thing to check - is Vaio Zone installed properly?

Start -> All Programs -> Vaio Zone -> Vaio Zone Settings

In the tree on the left is there a heading for TV (channel settings) - If so click on it and in the channels window, click on 'Refresh Channel List' to scan for TV Channels. Make sure you have an ariel connected!
