Its connect to my Samsung Plasma screen using HDMI.
If I am listening to music, I dont always want the tv on, but when you turn it off with music playing, the music jumps constantly. Only stops jumping once you switch the tv back on again.

Anyone else having similar problems and know why it does this and how to stop it. I've paid £1000 for a system which is not performing well........!

Sony support are now telling me that instead of using HDMI to connect to my plasma tv, I should use the componant outputs. What a cop out !

My machine is connected to a Samsung 42” Plasma via HDMI (brand new unit as well)

Audio out from XL-201 is optical out to a Yamaha AMP

TV Switched ON –

Watch TV channels all ok. Sound from AMP all ok.

Switch TV off and the sound juddgers constantly from the AMP.

TV switched back on, sound returns to normal.

If I want to record something, things are not recorded with juddery pictures and sound when TV is switched off.

If I record something with the TV switched on everything is fine.

If I want to listen to some music, its plays fine with the tv on, but I don’t want to always have the tv on when I am listening to music. Music will juddger as well if the tv is turned off.

After two months of battling with Sony Support. John Lewis have agreed to take the unit back and give me a full refund.

I spoke to Samsung and the have said that the fault is with the XL-201, they have had a few other customers complain as well.

Going to try the ACER Idea 510 out, it also has dual tuner card 🙂
