Connecting to external amplifier

I have a VAIO VGC-V2S and wish to play back stored music through my Hi-Fi equipment. What are the output connections on my computer for this?

You can use a stereo 3.5mm jack from your headphones socket to 2 phonos which go into the AUX on the amp

I use the optical out to the input of my CD recorder. This is better than using the jack plug as;

- you can't see it

- it doesn't mute the speakers

Hi Bob,
I use the v2s' optical out to my hifi amp and get sound from the hifi speakers for everything except live tv from vaiozone. Do you experience similar? (a recording from live tv, when played back through vaiozone as recorded tv does work through the hifi, strangely enough)
Anyone have an explanation for this?
