sony vaio driving me mad!!!

Hi all.
I have an RS 222 and at certain times it will start bleeping & the blue vaio light flashes on and off.
I have wiped the c/drive & reinstalled everything but its still there.
Any ideas anyone?

My PCV-RX514 has just started to do the same ¿ blue and red light flashing alternately whilst the bleeper squawks at the top of its voice.

Seems to be unrelated to anything I'm doing on the machine, but I've noticed that the CPU is always at 100% on the Windows Task Manager Performance Graph when this happens.

I do hope some techie out there can help.

Does it not say in the manual? As far as I know this is to say it's overheating, but why a premade standard model should overheat I don't know.

No, there's nothing in the manuals, nor anything in the online help that mentions this alarming display of PC distress.

However, you could be right about an overheating alarm ¿ the case design does make it accumulate fluff at quite a rate.

Cleaning the CPU cooling fan normally alleviates the problem. Also make sure that the fan isn't obstructed by any cables and that it is running freely.

Also, when i switch the comp off, i always leave on stanby, could this have anything to do with it?
I have just took the cover off and given it a good blow out (dust everywhere) & its not bleeped at me since restarting (10 mins ago).
Anyway, will see how i go,

This beeping is actually a warning to clean the system fans and CPU fans, as they're clogged.

Using compressed air or a hoover should clear it out.

Hi,Paul.
I'm John.I have a VAIO PCV-RS222.And I've got exactly the same problem as you got with the bleeping and flashing.I still haven't found the answer yet of what's the cause of it.But I think it's got something to do with overheating.The last few days my computer keeps bleeping and flashing.The last few days it's also pretty hot weather and very hot in my living room also.
And when I'm using a lot of CPU performance it also will flash and bleep.But I just think that's the problem , I'm not sure.
Hopefully you know what's the cause of this problem.
