I have bought a Sony Vaio laptop and have successfully used the 4 DVD-R discs to recover my media. However my system tells me I have not yet created the media! When I click on "Fix this issue" I am taken back to the beginning of the whole process. I then put another blank DVD-R in the drive and on the next page I can see that my 4 DVDs are ticked and it says "Recovery Media already created" I don't understand what's going on. Have I done something wrong? I have checked all 4 discs and all the files are one there. As I am far from being an IT guru I am at a loss what to do next. Can someone please help me?

Hi Jaxx.F

It would seem that although you have created the recovery media the trigger for reminding you is still there.

Have a look in both msconfig (Startup tab) and Task Scheduler for anything that could launch the reminder. You may find there is an executable called VaioReminder.exe located in Programme Files > Sony > Vaio Reminder (models probably vary).

Unfortunately the only way of checking that the disks work correctly is to use them to restore to factory settings.

Rich
