Total upgrade PCV-LX2

Does anybody know if sony would give my vaio desktop a complete overhaul i.e. new motherboard with processor, memory, DVD-RW drive and onboard graphic chip as i would love to keep my vaio but it is just not powerful enough now.

I doubt it, they'd definately try to sell you a new one.
Sometimes it's best to get a new one instead of upgrading

The problem is that the LX2 has a custom mainboard with integreated graphics. This makes it incompatible with normal PC parts. Sony did not continue the LX2 design, so there are no Sony parts that fit the custom chassis available. Finally, even if there were new and improved LX models, Sony does not upgrade systems.

My advice is to put your LX2 on ebay, make sure you take a picture of the actual unit so potential buyer can see what state your unit is in.

If you like the compact desktop as such, take a look at the V-series:

You can get that one with a 17" or with a 20" screen. Both have good specificiations that will run current 3D games and are very tidy and quiet about it. Also the screens are X-black and the units do include a TV tuner, so you can watch TV, record TV and burn the recordings as Video DVD.
