Vaio Gate

I bought a Sony Vaio and just really getting to know it. The Vaio Gate, the dropdown list of icons, it has 2 Skype and 2 BBC iPlayer Desktop icons. Any idea why or how to remove the duplicate icons?

Hi ridunne99,

Place the cursor over the duplicate icon, hold down the left mouse button and drag the icon out of the dock to the desktop. The icon will be removed but not placed on the desktop.

Hi,

Would you also know how to personalise the icons on Vaiogate? Every new application I pin there comes up with the Google chrome icon (even though the text states what the application is), I would like to identify them more easily.

Hi cautige,

I don’t have Vaio Gate on any of my Vaio’s, but I would imagine that customisation is the same as for any desktop icon...

Right click the icon and select Properties. On the Shortcut tab click ‘Change Icon...’ > Click Browse and navigate to the folder that contains the executable for the program (usually in C:\Program Files). Select and Apply.
