There is no way that it ran out of battery in the time I was away and it seems to have been corrupted in someway. I now seem unable to charge it and it is not recognised when I connect it to my PC. It is completley dead. Is this a hardware or software issue. Have I lost all of my music that I had stored??!!! I would really appreciate an easy fix if someone has any ideas!!

Don't panic !
Pressing the reset (via the little hole in the base of the VP) only resets the VP processor( and therby the power management system)

You will NOT loose any data on the Hard Drive.
