DVD Burner working correctly?

Hi, I have a PVC-RZ26G with a DVD/CD burner. I was using a Ulead program to create a DVD. The program says that 2.84 GB of the 4.6GB available on the DVD will be used, but after creation, only 1.02GB were written to the DVD and the video stopped in the middle. After that, I had some error messages saying that VERITAS could not make an exact copy of a DVD (that I previously created). Do you think my DVD burner is going haywire? Thanks.

I apologize, I didn't think they were same subject. On one hand, I was trying to figure out if it is my burner that is not working (a hardware issue) and on the other I was wondering if it was a software / compression issue. I'm sorry.
