Issues with PCV-RZ504

Hi everyone. I am based in the UK and I've just bought a PCV-RZ504 (P4 3.4, 250Gb, 1Gb). Very nice it is too, but I have a few issues. Can anyone help?

1. When I registered, my serial number was unrecognised. I can not currently log in to get support/downloads.

2. It runs XP Home. Why? I can't run IIS, nor can I control the machine via Remote Desktop. So much for the "home server concept".

3. Why does Drag and Drop CD/DVD support WMA but not MP3 or ATRAC? Why does the Network Media Receiver support MP3 and ATRAC but not WMA? Whichever format I choose to keep my music renders one or the other useless. As I have NetMD I will probably use ATRAC, so I will have to use SonicStage to write audio CDs - correct?

4. My Sony CMT-M333NT hi-fi connects to the PC via USB. It's a NetMD device and USB sound card. However GigaPocket (or is it the TV tuner hardware) insists on routing the audio to the on-board card. Why? Everything else (even TV through Vaio Media) uses the hi-fi.

Any help or thoughts on these issues would be appreciated.

Sounds very nice indeed, shame about Sony's software choice and the Gigapocket which seems to be limiting your use.

As it's so new Sony probably haven't updated their catalogue or database.

Couldn't agree more, what a silly idea? With XP Pro it would be some cool home networking media centre wouldn't it?

Probably Sony's paranoia about people stealing music.

I have no idea, you'd think Sony gear would be compatible wouldn't you?

About the XP home, I think it's because of the Sony-softwares' dislike of multiuser environment. Even in XP home, there is an increase of issues when someone uses VAIO* with more than one ( the default) user. I started with more users, but I decided that after the 1st need of recovery, I will not create more logins. (And in this aspect, it can relate to the "paranoia" also - or legality questions at any rate.)
*edit: I mean VAIO with XP home bundled.
