Neither playback files saved in My Music (or anywhere else for that matter). I think it might be a software conflict. The media player in particlar does not recognise files in any format and both players freeze often resulting in a system crash. Playback on the few occasions it has worked is erratic. Anyone else experienced this? If it doesn't upgrade it to version 9 and see if music plays.
