Try taking out and reseating the memory modules this is often the cause. While you are at it, check the soldering of the memory RAM sockets themselves to the mobo which has been known to fail in these models Try applying a little gentle pressure to the memory stick(s) and see if it boots.

Unfortunately, the beep code you describe could indicate a Video Chip failure and as this is soldered into the main board, repair of the video chip would require replacement of the main board and probably be uneconomic unless you can pick up a replacement on eBay.

Good Luck.

Hi Blencogo,

I already tried reseating the memory but didn't know about the soldering of the memory card holder. Will give this a try, although as this unit seems to sending out different signals at different times it may be worth replacing the motherboard if I can get hold of one.

Anyway, thanks for the tips.

Regards,

Neil Harland
