Thats a wierd one but does it have a internet secururity package like Norton installed that can leave a system good for nothing like that and account for that sort of CPU usage. Reason Norton is .lame. and by default scans on every startup (just the time you don't want or need it). If you have done a full system restore it is unlikely to be an infection. Does it perform alright after that 20 mins?

btw how much RAM do you have?

Message was edited by: -frank-

Message was edited by: wotevr

Hello, I'm new here and don't know if any of you have this problem. I got my VAIO 2 weeks ago. Yesterday when I turned the laptop on it spended 10 minutes ot "Starting Windows" screen. I turned it off and tried again and it said that I have to Restore the system. I did it. And from then on it spends just the same time on turning on and when it do turn on I spend about 20 minutes unable to do anything from hitting Refresh to entering my web browser. I thing that it has some problem with Windows 7 because the CPU Usage this 20 minutes is no more than 10% - 20%. Any suggestions?
