i have recovery cd but when it loads it show message "can not boot from cd- boot mgr is missing" any help please?

It sounds like the recovery disc is not a bootable disc. Where did you get this disc from?

You don't say which model Vaio you have but you would normally have to make your own recovery discs and this set would consist of 2 or 3 DVD+R discs and only the first disc (System Disc) will be bootable.

If you have not made a set of Recovery DVDs, you will have to buy a replacement set of discs from Sony or get a retail Operating System installed.

thanks for replay.laptop is FE41Z.i made 2 recovery dvds from my laptop recovery option.it has boot mgr folder on dvd but laptop does not want to boot from dvd.
