I have a VAIO VPCF12M1E notebook and searching for the most recent updates for this notebook but NOT through Vaio automatic update software. Instead I want to download these drivers manually from e.g Sony Vaio website and install them manually.

When I go now to the page

http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/preinstalled/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VPCF12M1E_H

then there are the original drivers. Fine. But where are the updates?

When I go to page

http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/updates/index.aspx?l=en_GB

there there are update packages but not for the drivers. Where is e.g. the update for the Intel Chipset or the Graphics or the SATA ?

So where can I download them manually otherwise?

Thank you

Michael

Hmm that is disappointing.

How long does Sony need to update their site?

For example for the 64bit driver for the GeForce GT 330M there is already a new update v8.17.12.6658

which is NOT offered on the Sony webpage.

See here:

http://www.pcpitstop.com/drivers/download/NVIDIA~GeForce~GT~330M.html

Similar for the Audio and the Ethernet hardware.

I want to avoid searching all the stuff manually on mutliple web pages.

Michael

Unfortunately you will have to searching manually.

I can help you with the graphics drivers.. having done it myself and helped someone else with it:

This should work for you

device manager

- Right click on your video card and select"Properties"

- Select the "Details" tab

- From the drop down menu, select "hardware id"

- Take a copy/paste of the string listed, and fill in the gaps on this site:

http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers

Select your OS etc, and press the "Filter" button. This should allow you to get a recent driver for your laptop model

Hope this helps, please mark it as a "Helpful Reply" if so!
